Deirdre Mackay

Councillor for East Sutherland and Edderton

 


Biography

Deirdre was born and brought up in Thurso where she attended primary and Thurso High School.

Deirdre moved to Brora in 2003 when she married Kevin.

She has 2 children, Rebecca, recently graduated from Aberdeen University and Matthew, a student at RGU.

A graduate of Stirling University, Deirdre returned to work in Wick, initially in Social Work and then, following a break to bring up her children, as Training and Development Officer with Caithness Citizens Advice Bureau.

She was elected as a member of Highland Council for Wick West. (1999-2003).

Prior to this she was Chair of the Royal Burgh of Wick Community Council.
